Flagpole dedication on 9/11/2013
Hospice of Huntington has always been committed to honoring veterans, and is a partner with the organization We Honor Veterans. On September 11, 2013 a flag pole dedication ceremony took place at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. The dedication began at 9:03 am, the same time a plane struck the second tower in New York City in 2001. West Virginia Cabinet Secretary of Veterans Assistance Richard Thompson and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Herschel "Woody" Williams were honored guests and participants in the dedication. Steel of West Virginia made a donation to pay for lighting of the flagpole and Woodmere Memorial Cemetery donated a granite marker.
