Levels of Care

At Hospice of Huntington, we understand that different patients require different levels of care, and we respond by offering quality care that meets the individual patient's needs, whether in their own home, nursing home, assisted-living facility or at our Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.

Home Care

Nine out of 10 people say they prefer to remain in the comfort of their own home when facing a serious illness. Our highly trained professionals bring care to wherever you call home, and we strive to provide an environment of care that is comfortable for both our patients and their families. We make regular scheduled visits to ensure that medical, social, emotional and spiritual needs are met.

Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House

Our beautiful 14-bed inpatient facility that sits along the banks of the Ohio River opened in June of 2006. Patients may be admitted for such reasons as pain management, symptom control, or respite care, which is designed to offer caregivers at home a much-needed break for up to five days. When the symptoms are under control, the patient can return home. Patients are also admitted for end-of-life care, where they may spend their final days of life in a tranquil, peaceful and caring environment.

Nursing Home / Assisted-Living Facility

Our team of nurses and CNAs help support the efforts of the nursing home staff or other facility in caring for patients who are seriously ill. We work with their staff to keep the attending physician abreast of any changes in the patient’s condition on a regular basis.

Continuous Care

Sometimes a patient has a medical crisis that needs close medical attention. When this happens, we can arrange round-the-clock care in the home. When the crisis is over, the patient can return to routine care in the home.
