Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House
The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, located at 3100 Staunton Road, Opened May of 2006. The property was once the Thomas Buffington farm, where a home was built in 1800.
Patients are brought to the Hospice House for reasons
such as pain and symptom control and to provide caregivers
at home a much-needed break. Many of our patients
are at the very end of their life. Family members
are supported through this very difficult time while at
the Hospice House. Sometimes, patients admitted for
pain control and symptom management are discharged
and return home to be cared for by loved ones in their
familiar environment.
This state-of-the-art short-term inpatient facility
allows our staff the opportunity to care for patients in
an environment that is peaceful and beautiful.
The hospice house includes:
- 14 patient rooms (eight which have French doors
leading out to a covered porch that overlooks the
Ohio River and the remaining six have window seats
overlooking the property's gardens)
- a laundry room
- a soothing spa where patients can enjoy a bubble
bath
- a fully equipped family kitchen with a large screen
TV and sitting area for family members, large
French doors open to the Ohio River
- living room
- two parlor rooms which may be used for
consultation with our medical team or a private
area for family members
- children's playroom fully equipped with books,
videotapes, toys, a television and computer games
Whatever reason a loved one is brought to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, our professional and caring staff is dedicated to meeting the total needs of both the patient and family. Our physicians visit with patients on a daily basis, ensuring they receive the medication and treatment they need in order to be comfortable.
