The Last Days
By Sandra S. McGinnis; RN, MSN
Oftentimes, families ask their hospice nurse what signs may show that death is near. This booklet is designed to help answer this question. Knowing what to look for and expect can help in keeping your loved one comfortable, as well as help you to stay calm and in control in those final moments. Each person is different, and the signs that death is near will be somewhat different from one person to another. This booklet outlines some common signs, along with ideas for giving comfort.
The Redwood Series
By Judy Stevens Callaway
The Redwood Series is written as a source of inspiration and comfort for the support group of the terminally ill. Particular effort has been made to address the hopes, doubts, and frustrations often felt by the primary caregiver.
Where a redwood thrives, there is a group of several growing together. In order to survive the storms of their environment, they grow very close to each other. Their roots intertwine and in this way, each tree lends support to the next. As strong and venerable as we might be, when the storms of life come, it's best to stay close together, each of us supporting the other.
